Prosthesis Choice:  

The ‘right’ choice of breast implants ensures the optimal shape breasts can be obtained for each patient.  What is an attractive breast in the patient’s eyes.  Dr Harper has a full repertoire of procedures to create the results the patient wants.

1. Round Prosthesis:  low priced, uncomplicated (no rotation or palpable edge of prosthesis).  Ideal for placement in front of muscle.  Patients with adequate shaped breasts with no loose skin.

2. Anatomical Prosthesis:  higher priced (double), more complications rotation, palpable edge, seroma formation.  Placed under muscle.  Used when inadequate preoperative shape or breast development, or long and wide chest walls.

Post Operative Care

   

 

First 2-3 days with drains in place, bathing, walking, no pain. Drains removed in rooms when the drainage is under 20 mls per day. Shower/wash breasts next day, into bra and tight elastic top.

 

   

 

2 Weeks all tape removed, incisional lines sunbaked, tight bra/elastic girdle 12 weeks night and day, walking, driving, no running or horse-riding.
